LNG Calor Gas Farm

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This bespoke project for Calor, in the Aurivo Dairy Ingredients plant in Ballaghadereen, Co. Roscommon was completed in April 2019. It was the first LNG gas farm in Ireland. LNG provides a clean, sustainable and efficient energy supply to the new spray dryer facility within Aurivo.

Works included:

• Excavation and preparation of ground.
• Formwork, placement of steel reinforcement and pouring of concrete base & plinths (laid to falls).
• Installation of stainless steel drainage system.
• Laying of new gas main using an ‘impact mole’ to reduce excavations and to minimise disruption.
• Delivery, placement and installation of LNG gas tanks, cryogenic tanks and the vaporiser system.
• Erection of new boundary fence to gas farm.
• Co-ordination of works in and around the dairy ingredients plant to ensure that gas supply was installed & commissioned prior to completion of the new spray dryer facility.

Kenaidan Contractors worked closely with the client & design team throughout this project to ensure that the design, construction works, installation and commissioning progressed as efficiently as possible.
