About This Project

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Due to their proven track record of Conservation and Heritage works Kenaidan Contractors Ltd were awarded the Contract to Execute Refurbishment works at St. Brendan’s Campus in Loughrea. The works were carried out on a live HSE campus in addition to strictly adhering to conservation principles. Kenaidan approach Health and Safety and the Welfare of the Members of the Public and our Workforce as a Fundamental Necessity not a Requirement.

Works included:

• Removal, Replacement and Salvage of existing Natural Slates
• Removal and Replacement of Lead Dressings & Cast Iron Rainwater goods
• Removal of 5 No Concrete chimneys to below Roof level.
• Substantial enhancements to the Structural Integrity of the existing roof.

This was achieved through carefully cutting back, replacing and splicing Structural members with new timbers to match the existing. Façade Restoration to the existing External Masonry was also required using an NHL Lime Mortar to Repoint Masonry as required. Defective Renderings were removed and replaced with Renders and Systems approved by the Project Conservation Architect.

The Project was completed in February 2016, in accordance with the client’s high specification requirements.
