About This Project

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Aughamore Childcare Facility building is located in the centre of the rural village of Aughamore, just outside Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo. Aughamore is leading the way with innovative community development. It is the only community in Ireland to be successfully working towards a fully integrated community campus (the ICC initiative as it’s known locally). Kenaidan were awarded the contract for the complete construction of their new Childcare Facility building. The building will have a capacity for up to 40 children. The building is divided into 3 user groups; infants, toddlers and the after-school children.

The building was constructed using standard construction methods: masonry blockwork, prefabricated roof trusses, uPCV windows and doors and internal plastering walls. Externally, the building is finished with a pebble dash plaster finish. Siteworks included the provision of a car park and landscaped areas.

The client’s specification, to create a safe and child friendly ambiance, was well and truly captured throughout the entire building.
